Music helping you sleep?

“The research strongly suggests that we don’t shut down our minds during deep sleep,” says John Rudoy, lead author of the study and a neuroscience PhD student at Northwestern University. “Rather this is an important time for consolidating memories.” (Sleeping With Music)

Earlier in this article, the professionals say that sleeping with music is great! When you're going through your REM, your mind is constantly memorizing things.
If you're a student going through a foreign language course in school, they say just listening to a cd or MP3 of that kind of music or conversation, it would help to learn the launguage quicker and easier!

“While asleep, people might process anything that happened during the day, what they ate for breakfast, television shows they watched, anything,” explains Ken Paller, senior author of the study and professor of psychology.

Your mind is constantly working to process information while youre sleeping, along with other facts that may be entering as you're falling asleep or even when you are just asleep.

So whenever you hear from people that it "isn't any good to listen to music", thats wrong. Many doctors might say that, but its really your own personal prefrence!
