The Impact of Music

Listening to music that reminds you of things that you once felt and you then realize the words speak to you.
You may hear that song on the radio or just a song you downloaded from a long time ago and it comes on at the most random time that makes you either hurt or feel great. Knowing that an artist feels that way too, or they can explain how or why they feel a way can help.
"Space Bound" by Eminem is a song a friend used to listen to make him feel better. Sounds like a hateful song, but the lyrics hit close to him.
Just little examples like that are what make music very impacting in peoples life.

Music helping you sleep?

“The research strongly suggests that we don’t shut down our minds during deep sleep,” says John Rudoy, lead author of the study and a neuroscience PhD student at Northwestern University. “Rather this is an important time for consolidating memories.” (Sleeping With Music)

Earlier in this article, the professionals say that sleeping with music is great! When you're going through your REM, your mind is constantly memorizing things.
If you're a student going through a foreign language course in school, they say just listening to a cd or MP3 of that kind of music or conversation, it would help to learn the launguage quicker and easier!

“While asleep, people might process anything that happened during the day, what they ate for breakfast, television shows they watched, anything,” explains Ken Paller, senior author of the study and professor of psychology.

Your mind is constantly working to process information while youre sleeping, along with other facts that may be entering as you're falling asleep or even when you are just asleep.

So whenever you hear from people that it "isn't any good to listen to music", thats wrong. Many doctors might say that, but its really your own personal prefrence!

Music a problem?

Many new music out now.. Sheesh! I tell you one thing, if it were me a long time ago, Id never let myself even grow up in this society. With the music either being all about drugs, sex and one night stands! How do kids who are even in grade school even knowing what those things are?

A little girl I babysit just a week ago told me that she wanted to be just like me when she was grown up because Im "growing up in the best time to be a 'teenager'". My first reaction to that was to always tell kids that they don't want to wish their life away like that. To love school and love their family, but most importantly to stay young!

I honestly wish I grew up with songs from Queensryche and even some Journey. Its different then because you were around for their 'newest hits'. Instead I get to be responsible for the generation that threw that away and replaced it with artists like "Lil Wayne" and even "Tyga" singing about drugs and the idea of "Rack City". What happened to "Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams. Doesn't matter when, or who wrote the song, what happened to everyone loving eachother and getting right around?

Clearly I'm confused, and born in the wrong era of music.
My first blog!
I dont know what all to say or to post, this being on the internet I guess you have to watch what you have to say.
Lots I could say, but I dont know what or how to say it!
